Ever since its inception, the branch has been strengthening the hands of the Institute in achieving its noble objective of “ Continuing Education”. The branch keeps its members abreast of latest professional and technological developments in such of the areas, where a member is expected to perform his attested functions by conducting series of Seminars, Group discussions, Study Circle Meetings etc. At Regional, State and Branch levels.
In its very short span of 20 years of existence the branch has many laudable achievements and as a result enjoys an enviable position. It enjoys the reputation of having invited many Luminaries and Celebrities in the field of Taxation, Auditing, Company Law, Financial Services, Computer Application, Professional Ethics, Code of Conduct, Accounting Standards, Auditing Practices, Information Technology etc.. Organising at least one major conference , Continuing Professional Education Programme in each year has become the target of every Managing Committee of the branch, without any exception.
The continued and sustained activities of the branch, over the years, culminated in the branch having been declared as “ THE BEST BRANCH ” in the entire country for the 1995-96. The branch was also awarded “ HIGHLY COMMENDED PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE ” for the years 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04 and 2006-07 on all India basis.
Hubli Branch was warded as “ Best Branch of SIRC” during the year 2007, under small category branches.
The branch was also awarded The MOST ACTIVE BRANCH in Southern India Regional Council the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the years 1993, 94, 95, 96, 98 and 1999. for the year 2002-2003, 2003-04 Southern India Regional Council basis .
The Hubli branch has the proud privilege of sending its senior member Shri.O.V.Gadag to the Regional Council at Chennai for a term of 3 years from 1992 to 1995, who ultimately rose to the position of being the Chairman of the Southern India Chartered Accountants Students’ Association Chennai for the year 1993-94.
Keeping in mind the all-round development of C.A Students, the Hubli branch of SICASA was established on 1st March, 1994 which was inaugurated on 22nd June 1994 by Shri. Raja Desai, the then Chairman of Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority in the presence of Shri. R.Nagarajan the then Chairman of SIRC Chennai.
Hubli Branch of SICASA was awarded as “ Best SICASA Branch of SIRC “ of ICAI during the year 2007. The SICASA branch received the award of “ACTIVE BRANCH IN SIRC ” for the year 1995-96, 1997-98, 1998-99 & 1999-2000. The branch conducts various programmes, functions, Workshops, and Seminars for their benefit.
Hubli branch has commenced its own Website two years back. The activities of the branch, members profile & Newsline can be viewed, the web site address is www.icaihubli.org.
12th February, 2003 was the red letter day in the life of Hubli Branch. That was the day when the branch moved to its OWN spacious premises at U.S.A. Centre. Coen Road Hubli.
Hubli Branch has acquired one acre of Land ( 40 Gunts) allotted by Hubli Dharwad Urban Development Authority, (HDUDA) during the month of May 2007 The Land is situated in the premier area of Hubli at Keshwapur, a fast development area ( North East corner of Hubli) just adjacent to Hubli-Solhapur National Highway. The entire area of Land has been duly fenced. Efforts are on to construct a beautiful building at the acquired site.
The Southern India Regional Council has 31 branches. In Karnataka branches have been established at Hubli, Belgaum, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore and Udupi. |
